This year’s theme, «Art as a Guest Among Friends,» marked a shift in the creative proposal, encouraging an atmosphere of community and hospitality. More than 80 artists from various cities in Germany, such as Berlin, Hamburg, and Frankfurt, participated in this edition. Some highlights included the presentation of local artist Rebecca Risse, whose acrylic and watercolor works centered on dreamy landscapes attracted numerous visitors. Additionally, Wiltrud Wagenbach-Tanrikulu from Reiskirche showcased her new series of abstract paintings, continuing her evolution in acrylic technique.
Weekend Highlights
This year’s event was also an opportunity to celebrate community achievements. The Dorfladen Eberstadt was awarded for its valuable community work, and its two chairwomen were recognized as «Landheldinnen» for their contributions to community life. Furthermore, a new sculpture titled «The Community» was installed in front of the Bürgerbüro in Lich, replacing the previous work by Benedetta von Collenberg.
One of the most anticipated moments was the official opening in the Güterumschlaghalle, where the Jazzengers delivered a captivating live jazz performance. This space, once a cargo warehouse, has transformed into a landmark of the event. Ulrike Obenauer, a renowned artist in metalwork, was the star of the evening with an impressive installation that interacted with the industrial environment of the building. The audience also enjoyed culinary experiences at various points in the city. In Barbara Müller’s garden, a delicious fusion of croissants and waffles called Croffle was the gastronomic highlight, while other venues offered local wines and French delicacies.

The overwhelming success of the 2024 edition has already generated expectations for the next edition, scheduled for September 13 and 14, 2025. With the theme “Art in the Barns of Lich and Other Places,” the organizers promise to continue innovating and attracting both emerging and established artists.
